I've employed most methods suggested. Bottom line” if you mechanically or electronically disable a vehicle, it can be circumvented.”
This seems to be the most effective from a deterrent perspective, at least law enforcement thinks so! It might still be dragged onto a rollback if enough room to maneuver, but most parking lots are way too tight for that.
That leaves a battery powered cut off. Now you're weighing the time element of exposure. Nothing is foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool

We cut one off with oxyacetelene in the UMKC college parking lot. Took it back to the shop, welded it back together, repainted it and dropped it off at the security shack. LOL!!!

My buddy has one of these distributors in his 85. Along with being able to set the timing on his phone he can disable the ignition

Let’s be honest here. Nobody is going to divulge what exactly they have employed as anti theft tactics.
These trucks are relatively simple and if you know how they work, then you know how to make it not work. Expectation is that a thief won’t waste time trying to diagnose why things aren’t working.
Short of a rollback, my worst fear is parts being stolen.

99% percent of cars are that simple and I would sure think most thieves would know, oil pressure light, alternator light comes on car doesn't crank. Short the solenoid. Doesn't matter Nissan,Mazda,Chevy truck.... It cranks but doesn't start a jumper wire from alternator positive post to coil/dist cap + that will bypass everything you bypassed on the ignition on almost any vehicle. That's the way they used to steal them before locking columns. 12v hotwire to the coil from the alternator charging post(that's where the term hot wire comes from) if it's a manual you push it and pop the clutch in 2nd if it's an automatic you short the solenoid. That's why VW bugs used to be stolen so often, one man can push it easy, you walk up behind it with your hot wire with alligator clips open the engine cover clip, clip open the door give it a push jump in and you are gone silent and quick.
