i have a windshield antenna in 1985 k10. (not sure if it is original)

previous owner had installed a single din aftermarket radio/cd player. i purchased mp3/bluetooth radio only so the entire radio is shorter. the po has the correct antenna adapter but it won't reach my radio. about 3 inches too short.

are there any antenna adapters out there that are longer? & where do i get them from?

also, i can't confirm antenna works as the po's radio did not pickup stations but it could be radio so i replaced it.

if glass antenna with longer adapter doesn't work, what is my next best option?

thank you all!

you don't need to replace the whole cable just put a short cable extension in. an electronics store by me sells them. I think the shortest they sell is like 6". but they are available just search around. highdesertranger

I would think any auto store would have them.

I got one at Advance or Autozone this summer when I installed my new radio. They had a short one about 6" and then one about a foot or maybe 18" or so long.

sorry, for some reason i didn't see your replies. thank you for responses.

turns out i ordered an extender recommended by crutchfield (where i ordered my radio from)

the extension cord female end doesn't fit the male end of the cord that is already in there. talk about a bummer!

it seems the male end on the antenna currently installed is smaller than most. does anyone know what kind of antenna cable this would be so i can look for that extension?

i thought all antenna cords were the same. guess i was wrong!

antenna cords are not the same. This is why when you buy an aftermarket stereo you may need to buy a "<insert manufacturer> to stereo" adapter to fit properly.

GM/Chevy has a tendency to be smaller than normal.
