I have a new set of belts from LMC, but as I'm sure many of you know, they do not mount exactly like the OEM belts, nor do they allow for the plastic cover to go back on with them. Does anyone make an adapter plate for the new belts so they can be mounted vertically and use the OEM plastic cover?

The ones I got from LMC had an angle bracket, it had to be drilled out to use the factory bolt. Take the belt apart and feed it through the plastic cover.
Bolt both ends to the angle bracket. The bottom of the plastic cover will need to be trimmed.
I need to get the right color spray for mine…

What did you end up doing? Im in the same boat. Got the lmc 3 point and they are drastically different than the originals. Im thinking about trying to find a way to restore the originals.

It appears a lot of the aftermarket belt sets are universal for bench and buckets they just include or exclude the plastic tubes that fit on the buckle side based on what seat they were ordered for.

I'm not sure what would work for your situation, but I know what won't.

I would avoid this seat belt mounting option:

After using mine for a couple of months, they're not bad, but not great either.
I had to have the fixed belt shortened so the lap portion wouldn't ride up my stomach.

@hoagster was just commenting on getting his restored, some mystical internet creature named Tina. Hopefully he’ll chime in…

I wish I had more details on getting belts restored but I threw mine away like an idiot. Mine were coated in mouse pee and were chewed to bits but I would personally dig them out of the landfill if I knew where exactly to start looking. The LMC belts suck, I spent a lot of time mounting them too, trying to get them to fit and work perfectly but no dice.

Good luck Sir.

I bought the aftermarket set and didn't like the fit. Sent them back. Was able to find a certified company to re-web and repair the retractors. Problem was the cost. With 4 retractors it got expensive, about $500. Just did an internet search appears there are more companies doing it now than a couple years ago. Price may be lower.

This is the person I found. Tina is her name. Had a long chat with her and mailed my seatbelts to her. Spendy but hey they last 50 plus years they will again!

Well, I wound up modifying the stock brackets to accept the new belts.

Stock Brackets:

The tabs for the cover were preserved and the big bolt heads are shaved because I was working on adapting the plastic cover to fit back over the new belt, but then I got sidetracked with other stuff, like swapping the rear end and new exhaust. I'll try to remmeber to take a shot of it in the truck soon. Works really good!!
