I bought a new cable from Autozone and it was also about 24", which was (if IIRC) about 4" too long. Its got a loop/spiral in the section from the firewall to the carburetor bracket, because that seems to be where it has the extra length, but all the plastic fittings snapped into place and it works fine.

Thanks for the info. If replacements are longer, then I will keep my original one since it is still working. Looks to be original but still working.

Still want to give to someone since I was refunded and am not going to be using it. Heck....I'll ship free too. Can't be that expensive for shipping. Just want to pay it forward.
