Well, I slapped the new anchor winch on the boat and put some docking lights under the bow yesterday. The winch is real sweet, quick and quiet and strong, i can't wait to use it this weekend. And I added a control switch onto the dash to control it fron the driver's seat and there is a switch built into it on the unit itself. I also need to hit Home Depot and pickup a clip for the safety chain to clip on the anchor chain when trailering to take the load off the winch motor.

I will be modding it though on Saturday afternoon before I take it out. I will take the trolling motor off and the front sonar and slap the anchor motor up on the left front of the deck. I don't use those anyway. I got to keep the right front deck empty so I can step off the bow when beaching and loading onto the trailer.

I know the lights look like **** because they don;t match but I will get a matching set on there when I find some. But they are so great to have at night, which is a majority of when my boating is done.

This might not be truck related topic, but I know you guys love pics so I figured I'd start this thread because I do a lot of modding on my boat and like to share.

Got to watch out for **** like this too. It was sitting 2 or 3 inches under the surface. I wacked it full speed coming in the night before, felt like the boat ripped in half but everything was fine thank god. Next day I went out to find it, it was a cut section of tree trunk about 2 feet long and 3 feet in diameter in a heavily traveled shallow. And it moved around when waves from boats hit it. I tried to tow it off to the side of the river but the rope kept slipping off it, so I just tied a jug to it so nobody would hit it. Eventually a storm flushed it down stream.

Usually wack something good about 4 or 5 times a year but 300 plus days on the water a year, that aint bad odds and I know this stretch of water like the back of my hand. Usually you like to see that stuff because fish will hold around it, but this was just in a bad spot. :flipthebird:

Bought another anchor winch for the back and installed it over the weekend. Moved the 18 lb anchor onto the rear winch and bought a new 20 lb anchor for the front winch. I had to move the rod rack over to the right about 6" to fit the winch motor on the rear deck. Came out nice though, and they work great, can't wait to test them on the river.

I also bought a keel guard kit to put on the bow, because I always beach my boat. This should help protect it. I didn't install it yet because the temps are too cold right now, they recommend at least 60* weather and a warm boat surface to install and cure. I will put up pics of that when it get's installed.

As you can see in that last anchor pic I had to cut the red rubber coating off the stem of the anchor and grind the metal smooth because it was hanging up in the roller assembly and wouldn;t release, but all good now.

I seen anchor, and figured it would be a Dodge intake manifold or head for a 360. I knew you were a Dodge boy at one time. You must have plenty of anchors around from the past.
