I am looking at getting a motor from tilden motorsports. So what I have is a 76 gmc 2wd that I am planning on putting on top of a 4x4 1990 chevy frame to make the truck 4 wheel drive. So I have a few questions for you guys in the quote I received from them they quoted me for a fuel tank with ls rated fuel pump at 1500 bucks is this a required thing or can I use the tanks I already have with some modification? An ls swap crossmember for 300.00 seems a bit steep seems I could fab one up for less, pro series oil pan for 500.00 and a fuel system plumbing kit for 300.00.

So what do you guys think about these items? This would be my first swap I am trying to gather the pieces I need and get an idea of what it is going to cost me.

If you are using the 1990 frame, all you need to do is drop in a high pressure pump using the 1990 gas tank. ACDelco EP381 is a good option. Are you using a GMT400 frame? If so, not really sure on the fitment for oil pan and etc.

The prices make it sound like a pro touring 1500hp build. Maybe typo on fuel tank price? For a simple 6.0 swap, an upgraded fuel pump on gmt400 chassis or new 87 tank with upgraded fuel pump on original chassis. Engine mounts are usually about $90-$150. Often stock transmission crossmember works just moved to a different location on the frame. All new fi fuel lines could cost up to $300.

no typos there. 3,500.00 was the quote for the motor. I thought the prices seemed a bit high. does anyone know of a good place to get a motor for this swap I have been watching craigslist but haven't had much luck. I am going with the 6.0 just to have something a little different rather than going 5.3.

No it's not a 1500 hp build.

Could you confirm which chassis you going with? Look for lq4 if on a budget, lq9's will tend to run around 2k price range. There is one on craigslist local to me, rebuilt 6.0 short block with stock wiring and accessories for $2k.

I believe EP381 is the fuel pump you would need. Came on vortec motors in later years. Also 255 is a common upgrade. Both should work in existing tank, maybe with a bit of modification.
