4x4 Hearse

Finally getting to work on my hearse. I started this over a year ago but sometimes life just gets in the way. This first picture is what the back currently looks like and the other pictures are of the work I'm doing on the front suspension.

This is part of the subframe I'm building to mount leaf springs on the front. It's just clamped in place while I take measurements for the rest of the subframe. The front bumper will cover most of the subframe down to the receiver hitch.

This is another view showing the multiple choice holes for the springs and the receiver hitch. There will also be a receiver hitch on the back so I can move my winch to wherever I need it.

Just wondering, have you ever looking into spring sliders? They arnt to terible to make, and Ive heard they ride better than the old shackle design.

Mabey you could incorperate it into the back of the front springs or something. Just an idea.

Hey Driver4r the spring sliders sound like a good idea I'll give it some thought. MrClean I appreciate the compliment and I will continue posting pictures. Bucket, I will try to get something done on the hearse before your finished with your popcorn. Thanks guys!

Speedway and Jegs both sell them. They look like they would be very easy to make in the shop. I have seen home made ones on Pirate 4x4 in the past. I like the fact that you don't have so many sets of bushings to wear out. For now I have to go with old school shackles because I already have my material cut out and machined. Keep the ideas coming I have a long way to go I this build and I like brain storming. Thanks.

That picture is actually from Pirate4x4, there was a 71 Chevy Swb that i liked following. Those he hand made.
