Mickey Thompsons on and the Z28 will is just about test and tune ready. Im go be chasing a 10 second timeslip on motor with a T56. Cant wait to load it up on my trailer behind my truck and post some pictures.

On the other hand im still collecting info amd paying attention to big block builds for my squarebody.
We tow a 9-10k lb pound 33 foot travel trailer with our 85 c20 suburban 461 cubic inch and turbo 400:

Car is done. Last part to install is a BMR anti drag bar on the rearend of the car. Its go make sure both front tires leave even at the height not to mention it helps me as a driver keeping the car to stay straight.

Truck wise...im go invest in the pipesmax software and play with different heads, cams and intakes on a big block. I want to know somewhat what im buying before i buy any parts.

Joke of the day.... my car is 6000 pounds and my trailer is 4500 pounds.

Keep us posted how this goes! I actually just scored a l29 over the weekend. Seller claims it was a standard bore and they redid the bearings and rings 40k ago but wanted a ls. Going to verify compression and pull a bearing to confirm.

Plan on swapping it into my 79 suburban that has a stock 350 and would like to be able to tow a car occasionally. Have a 4l80e already lined up for it since it has factory 3.73s.

Plan on using promax 290 heads as I heard they are great even over the afr 265s. Edelbrock rpm dual plane with Sanderson bb8 headers. Going to call Howard’s and see what they recommend for cam. If it’s a solid 500/500 on pump gas I’m happy. Figure it would have to work less than a hot 383

Hey Craig what year Chevelle for those headers and do you think they might work in my 86 ? I bought Sanderson's for my 572, while they are outstanding quality I'm really wanting large primary (2" minimum) long tubes so I'm not choking this heavy breather... I've posted this question here and CK5 with no answers, hell there has got to be someone who's found a large primary long tube header to fit a 81-87 K10 Big Block !

Difficult to justify dropping $1000 clams + for a set of Hooker Chevelle headers and have them not fit ! Very expensive garage wall hanging !

BB guys check out the Hooker 2455-1HKR header set tell me what you think... They look the part to me nice and straight with no funky aggressive bends like most others in their class...

Scratch that. I've got the 2457's which are for '67-'69 Camaro, '68+ Nova and '65-'70 Impala. I've used '68+ Nova headers on squarebody trucks twice now, so these should fit.

You da man Bucket I was eyeballing those also but I read using Chevelle headers somewhere and the 2455's have a 3/8" flange versus a 5/16" on the 2457's which I'm sure wont make a crap of difference I'm just an overkill guy... Anyway if you ever bolt them in LMK, sorry for hijacking the thread but necessary Squarebody BB header talk though lol !
