I recently rebuilt the 454 in my 79 K-10. It is a .060” over 1973 block with a steel crank. Hyper-eutectic Speed-Pro pistons on 502 BBC rods. Compression is 9.7:1. It has 049 heads, Comp Cams hydraulic roller 11-451-8, and roller tip rockers. Factory iron intake, and an Edelbrock Q-Jet carb. HEI ignition, and Hooker headers. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

@Alaska 79 K10,

We were in a discussion the other day about semi-gloss paint. So what paint did you use, it looks great.

It is a semi-gloss urethane that can be bought at NAPA stores that sell paint. Kinda spendy, but the sheen is just right, and super durable. The mix number is 70-8800. Must be sprayed through a paint gun.

Love the 454, but seems like the ford guys around here have more money, as I did the internal work on a .030 429, and a .040 460, this week. 4.401 finished bore...About the same size as Double D's, in case Idahovette has trouble with the numbers...Hey Perry.
