4.350 x 3.764, 9.7 compression, 1971 820 GM oval port heads, Comp cams roller tip rockers, .080 wall chromoly pushrods, factory 390 HP cast iron intake with a Q-Jet. The centerpiece of my build a 350 HP 396 factory hydraulic cam 214/218/460/480/112 with 1970s TRW hyd lifters. Some pictures.
That should be a fantastic torque monster! Where did you get the camshaft and lifters? And is the manifold NOS? If not, how did you get it so clean? Super clean shop you have there!
Back in the day I would use the 390 HP 427 cam in tired 396's using Crane Anti pump lifters. I still have one of those intakes in the garage.
Thank you. My cam grinder RED LINE used a 1960s GM cam core, then I found 1970s new TRW hyd lifters because I wanted complete reliability with the factory GM lobes. I clean all cast iron In a hot tank.
