Hello all. First my truck is a daily driver, 1983 GMC 2500 3/4 ton four wheel drive, with a 1973 Camaro 350 motor. Pretty sure engine has a cracked head. (pushing water into the overflow and not sucking back into the radiator) Anyway, was looking into a 350 long block from summit...price is 1,450. Is this a good motor and price? Or should I go a different route? Any suggestions would help

Yeah, that's the delivered price for the Gen 1 350 crate engine. You can juice it up with a new cam and such if you want (voiding the warranty), or just do some bolt-on goodies to get up to 250, 260 hp. But it's a good torquey engine that works well in these trucks.

The going price through mail order is $1500 delivered, but JEGs and Summit seem to take turns on having it on sale at $1450.

Thanks for the reply. Like I said, its my daily driver, nothing fancy, I was going to buy some headers for it. I need to check on prices for headers.

Don't cheap out on headers, even though they're spendy in the first place, most of them start in the 150-200 range.

I have the Hooker headers, and they've lasted and lasted.

Hooker 2453 for a K truck, Hooker 2452 for a C truck.

4x4 is a K. 2500 is a 3/4 ton, generally referred to as a K-20.
