20 inch lift k5 but problem on stearting

yeah i have a problem with how im going to do the stearing if any one can help me out 20 inch is alot of madifacations lol can you please help

At that point, you're probably stuck using full hydro steering. Are you going to drive it on the street?

If that's the wheel/tire combo you're going to run, you can go with much less lift. With springs like that, you will basically have no flex, so that much tire clearance is not needed.

yes it is going to e street drivin its on 44 but thats the biggest tire im using so how does this hydro system work can you plzz explain thanks

well i got all the axels and done for that and everything im just having areally hard time on how to do the stearing i got dana 60 on it

I don't believe it would be street legal anywhere, there's no solid mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the tie rod. It's all hydraulic with a ram mounted to the front axle... like the big monster trucks.

You can do it with a regular crossover steering setup, and be legal, but it would be serious hackery in my book. You would need a funky shaped, very weak, custom made drag link to pull it off.

The most important thing to learn is not to lift your truck anywhere near that much if it will see any street time. No offense meant to the OP.

Also, you can clear 44's with some minor trimming, a 3 inch body lift, and a 10 inch spring lift. Then all you need is a garden variety crossover steering setup (to replace the factory push-pull setup).

For a street use truck you'll need to forget about hydro. It'll have to come down to a crossover steering kit. Some people use the 2WD steering box because the steering arm points from front to back, instead of the 4WD box that points left to right. But if you buy the kit you get a re-indexed steering arm for your 4WD box that makes the arm point forward. Then you have a long tie rod (drag link actually) that goes from the driver's side to the passenger side. On top of the D60 where the passenger side kingpin cap is the kit includes a new cap that has an arm on it. The tie rod will bolt there, and your regular tie rod will stay in the same place. I've heard of people modding parts to do this without paying but I would rather put the trust in a company that manufactures the parts, instead of jerry rigging something up that might fail.

You gonna run any swamps in that thing or just crawl the malls?? You could probably clear those 44s with 12" lift instead of all that extra.

With 20 inch springs though, think of the angles on the drag link ends. That's simply just too much lift.
