1982 Chevy C10 4.1-liter engine emissions recirculation

What's the name of the crooked (Z-shaped?) hose that helps with the recirculation of engine gases in a 1982 Chevy C10? I couldn't find a replacement hose I needed at one point a few years ago (the old one had shrunk, cracked and become hard and nonflexible), so I clamped a filter on the end of a new stubby hose. A photo of the filter is attached. A guy behind the counter at an auto parts store told me about this workaround. I'd like to find the correct hose and put things back the way they're supposed to be. I wonder now where the other end of the hose should go. Thank you.

Crankcase breather hose? Goes from the valve cover to the air cleaner. Would hook to a breather mounted in the air cleaner.

The air cleaner breather element is still available. As far as the correct hose you'll need something else. You might ask the parts house guy if you can go back and look at the molded heater hoses. Cut a piece out of a hose with the correct bend(s).

Only problem is coolant hoses are generally not oil proof and will swell.

At the valve cover does that 90 degree fitting swivel or is it fixed.If it swivels I'd just buy emissions hose aim the valve cover nipple forward,route my hose in a C shape.Put a hardware store spring inside the hose to prevent collapse.
