Please tell me there’s a kit to rebuild these washer pumps. For some reason I’m just fascinated with the design of it and hate the idea of just replacing it with an electric pump. The solenoid and cam all work perfectly, just the rubber check valves are so stiff that it won’t work. Just figured I’d ask. I love the old school engineering and the mechanical design over electric crap.

Trico 11-101
i found that too

ACDelco 8-6701 but it seems to be temporary out of stock till another run is done.

also if you ever did want to goelectric just because possible ease i could send a maybe working pump with no reservoir home just the pump no idea what its for gm wise, its yours. stamps and a small envelope should be enough because they aint heavy. But you can repair that :)

Even the pump is reacting to the "go electric" statement :

I found a kit and it’s on its way. I also have several parts trucks with electric pumps and reservoirs to swap over if need but. I appreciate the offer though.

Took the reservoir from one of my 81-87 parts trucks with the electric pump in the tank and ran my washer motor wires to it. The new kit didn’t work to fix the tired mechanical pump and I needed windshield washers badly.

These pumps are not a great example of GM engineering, and even with a repair kit it might not work right. Using a newer reservoir with a built-in pump is often the best fix.
