Man! That is a really great thing you got there @Catbox .

I like the paint better like it is but I think the question that is on everybody's mind is :
"When is the BBC install scheduled?"

AND!
"Can I help?"

Haha!
Take me to the drive in Pops, I wanna get a malted. ;)

Big Block is in the planning stages currently.
I have to rebuild it and its transmission.
The easiest way to install a V8 into one of these that never had the option of having one, is to put an aftermarket suspension and steering arrangement under it.

So....
That is going to cost a small fortune that I need to save for.

Plus the huge ass swap meet that I have been waiting for was supposed to be last weekend.
But we all know that didn't happen.
I still have been picking things up here and there for it though...

I think that's the fastest I've seen a paint job turn to crap. Did he paint it with water colors? Jk

Had to be some cheap ass paint tho

Like the new rims and big block

This is something that has always amazed me. Someone will post their ride to show it off, like we all do. Then for some reason, people have to start nit picking and criticizing this or that. Especially when the OP hasn't asked for opinions in the first place. But coming from someone that joined 3 years ago, and their very first post seems (to me) critical of someone's stuff isn't a very good way to be welcomed by the community. Just my opinion.

LOL... I didn't even notice the modern wheels...lol... I do like the 5-spoke-wheels he put on it though. Or is that the "modern" wheels? Perhaps the razors or whatever those are called. I don't care, it's a cool car, great find and awesome project.

That car brings back some mighty fine memories. The second car I owned when in HS was a 54 Belair four door. I didn't appreciate that car back then but I sure would like to have it back now.:Caffeine:
I`ll surely be watching this build thread.

Yes sir.
That is my 1970 Squareback.
It is waiting some love as well.
Here is a peak at it...

It has been off the road since 1998 when the previous owner suddenly passed away.
It bounced around a bit before I was looking for a nifty new project...

Which wheels are you referring to sir?
I would think the 14 inch Americans look close enough to the vintage part.
The smooth ones are close enough as well.

I am a wheel lover as well, but not to the point where I nit pick the fine details.

Watching a Netflix series, Tales from the loop, there was one of those in that show.

Perhaps later this week I will throw up a post about it as well.
It has a set of bug fenders that have been cut and profiled to fit the square fender.
Then they welded them on.
It sits on vintage US Indy Mags that are 14x7 wearing 235/60 tires.
They are super wide and fit the image of the car perfectly.

Here is the plate frame I have for that car...
