01 bravada lurch when starts

So sometimes, not every time, when I start my Bravada it kind of lurches forward just a little bit almost like I tried to start a rig without pushing the clutch in first. It feels to move forward like not even an inch but it's pretty obvious.

I'm pretty sure most of these bravadas are the same. 4.3 L V6, 4l60 and an all-wheel drive case. Any suggestions? It really doesn't cause any problems. Just kind of weird.

Broken motor mount? If the engine leans over when starting, it could rotate the driveshaft enough to rock the truck forward slightly.

With the hood up, power brake it and see if the engine pops up. @78C10BigTen knows what I'm talking about. He even has a video to demonstrate.

Doing a little bit of research I found there are TSB's for a little fluid still being in the clutch packs that produces a slight engagement upon a startup but is stopped by the parking pawl. Says check condition of fluid Maybe dirty or clutch packs may be contaminated.

I'll play with the motor mount tonight

My 07 Tahoe does the same thing once in a while. Every few weeks up to every few months it would do it. Start it up and BANG, like one of the clutches is engaged or the TC clutch. Whole truck jumps. I have not found any answers online or chatting with trans techs. It's been doing it for years. I do a 6 quart fluid exchange every 6 months. It's got an ass load of miles.

Yup yull know it! Lol do it hard enuff from a standstill itll even pop up n slap the underside of the hood. Ask how i know...

Motor mount seemed to tight enough. The motor looked like it torqued maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. I'll try changing the fluid in the transmission next and see if it helps.

Every 6 months? Why? Do you put like 69k mikes a year on it?

Because I don't do a full flush all at once so do it in partials. It's a rebuilt unit with almost 200K on it.

Because he lost too many good vehicles to father time and rust. Now he takes every precaution necessary, and then some.
