New bench upholstery!
The whole job only took me a couple hours, and I’m very pleased with the result. They offer the upholstery in damn near every color imaginable, in tweed or vinyl, tweed with vinyl inserts, full back or open back, and you choose whatever vinyl/fabric color combo you want. -

Best evaporator?
ive seen mixed reviews on the various evaporators available for our trucks. What is a good choice? I have a 79, if it matters. -
Accumulator?
Also, is the pressure switch on the accumulator a low or high switch? I discovered my R134 was low (there was only about .2 lbs in the system) but the compressor was still running. Should it be shutting off with low pressure? Is there also a high pressure switch? -

Is there an accumulator that will fit our trucks that already has an R-134 low side fitting? Or do I just need to buy an adapter? Question about dash air vents
Your fan only working on high is because your blower resistor has gone bad. Replace the blower resistor and you should be good to go. -
Parallel flow condenser?
On a related note, if I get a universal one, how big should I go? As big as will fit? -
AC Blower motor noise?
I don’t know the cutoff, but on most or all of the 70s trucks at least, the blower motor will always run on low to provide some ventilation, even if everything is set to off. I’m not sure if my 79 with AC does, but I know my heat only 77 did. That being said, yours is really loud. I’d replace... -
Parallel flow condenser?
does anyone sell a direct fit parallel flow condenser that isn’t $300+? Or is my best option to buy a universal one for $80-90 and have some fittings made? Also, are the condensers directional, or can I mount a universal parallel either way? -
What are the fittings called?
Is the fitting on the factory condenser (from the compressor) also a #8? If it is, it sounds like all I’ll need is a hose with #8s at each end to run from the compressor to the condenser, and one with a #10 and a #12 to run from the compressor to the accumulator. -

Interesting follow up: I took off the wire, and the blower won’t turn on. As soon as I reinstalled the capacitor wire, it worked fine. I’m not sure why that is, but I guess I’ll be keeping it. -
