    Aftermarket power door locks

I'm looking at doing this as well..... tired of having to reach over the whole cab and unlock the truck by hand. Lol. I want a remote as well so I can modernize things.

    Steering Column

I have a steering column out of a late 80's I don't need. I ended up rebuilding the one out of my 78 blazer. It is setup for automatic, has tilt, and cruise control. I will have to post pictures later, but I'm looking to get $100 OBO out of it. That's what I paid, haven't done a thing to it...

Squarebody Down! HELP - Member Roadside Assistance Volunteer Map

You can add me to the list as well. Looks like I'm pretty close to offroad-cowboy. I'm down in Gastonia near the SC border.... 28056. Got plenty of room in my garage to work on something if needed, have a decent amount of tools as well.

    78 K5 Tailgate Lock Mechanism

I figured it out. Had to remove the bolts holding the window in then remove the bolts holding the window regulator in. Then it was easy peasy getting the lock out

    78 K5 Tailgate Lock Mechanism

Okay so I lost the keys to my K5 during my move back in March. It's a project I am trying to get back on the road (sat for 10 years at my Father-in-law's place in the woods.... so he gave it to me. Pretty nice of him I must say.....). So I got the ignition lock cylinder replaced, no problem. Gas...

    Steering Column Upper Bearing Assembly

So I went to replace the ignition lock cylinder in my 78 K5 Blazer.... got it all apart, replaced what I needed to replace, but then I noticed the little ball bearings coming out. I put them back in the little plastic piece but after I got it all back together I noticed there were 3 of them that...

    K5 Rust Repair

I should add that I've never really welded before... nor do I even own one. The good news is I have a 1200 sq foot shop now that I can keep everything dry in and work whenever I want to (before all I had was a muddy carport... hence why I haven't worked on it much since I got it).

    K5 Rust Repair

Plan B.... I found a 1989 K5 body and frame (no axles, transmission, or engine) somewhat close to me and they are only wanting 400 for it. It includes doors too. It's worth that in scrap I'm sure... so I think I'm gonna grab it up even if I don't use it. My question here is... how compatible...

    SBC 400 in a K5

Oh yeah , I was saying the popping/raspy noise usually comes from straight pipes. I want to avoid that. Ive heard good things about magnaflow. Thanks for the tip.

    SBC 400 in a K5

I recently acquired a 1978 K5 Blazer with a 400 and a TH350 trans. I'm not looking to do anything major to it but I want to make it sound good and it would be nice if I could get some decent power out of it as well. I'm interested in things such as cams and head work, but I am new to the V8...

    K5 Rust Repair

Good news... The engine isn't seized up at all. So now I'll be changing fluids and checking electrical parts so I can try to get the engine running. I also looked under the truck and found that it has the TH350 transmission.

    K5 Rust Repair

True, that's what I've heard. Well first things first... gotta make sure the engine is good. If it's good I'll start looking for sides. How is it attached? I am very familiar with the K10 but I haven't even pulled the carpet up yet on the Blazer. Ive been doing a little research and it looks...

    K5 Rust Repair

You really think i should spend that much on sides when its just that one area mainly that has a hole? How hard is it to replace? Obviously on a truck its bolted on but isnt this completely welded on?

    K5 Rust Repair

Is it worth trying to fix all of the rust on the sides? Or should I just buy new bed side panels and install? Obviously the cowl parts and the windshield are the ones I am most worried about. Just looking for some direction on the patch panels and what other options I have. I'm not going for...

    K5 Rust Repair

Hopefully I have this in the right spot, but I just acquired a 1978 K5 Blazer from my father in law. He bought it from the dealer back then and is the only owner (well, until me). He takes very good care of the things he owns. For whatever reason, I guess gas prices and the fact that he bought a...

    Transmission Swap Question

I currently have a 700R4 behind my 6.2 diesel. I have a 86 K10, and I'm not sure what my transfer case is nor what my gear ratios are. First question is how do I figure those out? Not to sound like a newbie but I don't have a lot of experience with that sort of thing. My main question...

    Brake Fluid In Cab

I'm not worried about replacing the spring and the piston... they are a little corroded but I have them sitting in some "Evapo-Rust" at the moment, so we'll see how that does. Should clean it up a good bit. The star-washer/retainer I would love to replace but if i can't find a new one that one...

    Brake Fluid In Cab

I'm having some problems finding the internal parts that the kit wanted me to re-use. I pulled the required parts out of the old unit, but the nylon seal is cracked and worn out. Also tried to replace the hardware that holds the unit on the firewall but can't get that anywhere either.

    Brake Fluid In Cab

Yeah it was easy once i figured it out. I want to find a piston and definitely need the plastic piece. Wondering about the spring piece too since it had a rubber gasket. The thing comes with a lifetime warranty so i dont feel so bad now that i know i could have rebuilt it for 30 bucks. Ha

    Brake Fluid In Cab

Yep I just changed it... however I didn't see before I installed it (it's not all bolted in yet, just sitting on the mounts) that I have to reuse the piston inside. There's some sort of retaining ring in there and I don't really know how it comes out. Anyone done it before and know how it comes...
