    Get That Snappy Fire Up

Wanderingthru, i've also considered this and might adjust my jets... it seems to burn rich (has that classic unburnt fuel smell, or could be the littlbe bit of oil i'm burning lol) leading me to suspect someone installed this carb and increased jet sizes thinking they would get more hp lol...

    Get That Snappy Fire Up

Gents, just an update, i installed an inline fuel pressure regulator, a cheapo i got from o'reilly's i think it's a mr. gasket brand not sure... set to about 4.5-5psi. i also noticed that i have a carb spacer but it is an aluminum one, which i don't think will help with the heat much. Reset the...

    Get That Snappy Fire Up

so i am losing fuel?? just not in the way i anticipated it's boiling off in the bowls. i thought it might be draining back to the tank somehow. make sense too because if fire it up right after i shut it off it fires on the first turnover. Thanks! i will give that a shot! i think i am going to...

    Get That Snappy Fire Up

Gents, i have i an 82 gmc 1500 350 w/ edelbrock 1406 that i have recently put heavier metering spring in and larger rods. this smoothed out the stumble my pickup had when you punched the throttle but, it did not solve my starting issue. When the engine is cold, i can set the choke/high idle and...

5.7 vortec heads, help deciding on condition and value

Hey guys, I'm looking at a set of vortec heads. The engine was ran out of oil and im guessing they are just parting out the motor to make a buck. The guy says the heads "seem okay. " and they are out of a 98. Anyway, the heads are in a different state so I can't feasably get a good look at them...

82 gmc 1500 seems to be leveled... So what do I need to do to drop it?

Good looking pickup! And thank you. Yeah pretty sure it is too. after doing some more measuring from the frame, body etc it seems it does in fact sit almost exactly 2in taller in the rear! So I think I will be doing a 4/6! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

82 gmc 1500 seems to be leveled... So what do I need to do to drop it?

I'm 90% sure they are factory shackles but I'll take as many pictures as I can today. The bed supports will have to be cut to fit 2in drop shackles and they are still in tack. So if I did a 6/4 I think I would still do a notch just to prepare for dropping it more down the road if I wanted...

82 gmc 1500 seems to be leveled... So what do I need to do to drop it?

That's what I was wondering, so the next thing I was going to do is pull measurements from the frame to the ground to see if there is still a rake. I will try to get some pictures sometime today! Thanks for the l reply, definitely knowing the wheel well arches arnt the same height makes me...

82 gmc 1500 seems to be leveled... So what do I need to do to drop it?

Hey folks, first time posting here. I recently bought an 82' gmc 1500 lwb that I have started to modify and make my own. This forum has already provided much insight and knowledge to help me with my build. So thanks for that! I am looking at lowering the pickup next so, I have been trying to...

    Hood liner: Asbestos?

doubtful EPA clean air act of 1973 outlawed asbestos use for insulation and fire proofing, its likely GM quit using it then too. Even though the total ban didn't happen until 89.
