    255/60/15 vs 275/60/15

Welcome! Post up a pic if you haven’t already! As others have mentioned, it’s all personal preference vs fiscal. Throw in a dash of consideration of rear end gear. On the lowered trucks, the 255/275 combination looks good to me. When I got mine and wasn’t lowered yet, it had 275/60 all the way...

What have you done to your square lately??

Met the local custom shop on Sunday for a cruise out to Mount Baker. When we were getting ready to leave, I saw witness marks on my right rear tire. I opted to go back home instead to investigate. The trim for the wheel arch overhangs further inboard than the fender itself on that side. So I...

What have you done to your square lately??

Sometimes that’s a great thing to do. I think it was Clarkson that said (no matter what you think of him) “If you don’t stop and look back at what you’ve driving, you’re driving the wrong car” or something like that. I love looking at my truck. Not as much as driving it, but I could still...

Best Truck Roof Top Tent for Weekend Camping?

True to all of that. Most of those guys just leave them on to suck up their mileage and to get weather worn. The only thing that’s worse is the $200k Sprinter vans for backcountry adventures, and none of the leave town. Not hatin’ tho- if the OP gets one and uses it, more power to him.

Best Truck Roof Top Tent for Weekend Camping?

I’ve heard good things about Tepeh tents and CVT. Lots of Taco Bros roaming around Bellingham with them.

What have you done to your square lately??

What’s the name of the podcast? I listen to them all the time, since I drive 45 minutes to work. Edit- I looked for Simon Says Garage on my phone but it didn’t come up- unless it’s a YouTube thing only. Sweet truck BTW!

Done! I’ve never had such a simple project take me so damn long.

What have you done to your square lately??

Final coat of paint and ready to go on- but the screws I had were too short, so I decided to wait for the valve cover studs to be delivered. Still using the steel core FelPro gaskets and love them.

What have you done to your square lately??

Finished making the valve cover baffles and screwed them in with red loctite. I don’t care if they never come off. Just waiting for the bond to cure then I’ll have them on tomorrow.

Out for a cruise to get shorter screws for the valve cover baffles.

What have you done to your square lately??

Not seen that one yet- she’s a beaut! VGG Shine Juice is partially linseed oil, along with some other stuff to make it more durable. I think it’s available in matte or gloss. I have the gloss version.

What have you done to your square lately??

The paint is a mismatch of different types of paint, and is amateur at best in some area. Maybe not rattlecan, but definitely rough to the touch. I did try VGG’s shine juice once but I messed up the application a bit, might try that again.

What have you done to your square lately??

Spent some time finishing up the baffles for the Mickey Thompson valve covers. I did a test fit, but the grease I placed on the top of the rockers contacted the baffle. Which was weird to me because the old Edelbrock are shorter, the baffle just as low, no issues. Well, damn. Edelbrock was...

What have you done to your square lately??

Honestly, that’s where I’m getting to. I still have thoughts about a 15k paint job, but as much as I think I like the idea of that, I enjoy the mechanics of just working on my truck. I’m reconsidering my plans, and thinking about spending the cash to just fix the rust areas, as my truck has...

Sounds like you need a big block and a carburetor. Sorry, when I’m stuck at work I have no filter ;)

    Inline tube

This. I ordered up trans cooler lines for mine but gave up on them since trying to get them through around the engine was impossible. They were high quality tho.

    1981-87 Chrome body side molding

I got mine from Route LA custom parts but I see that they’re sold out now. I imagine they’re probably the same kit that is made for LMC, high quality. I used the 3M eraser wheel, adhesive remover, acetone etc. You won’t be able to get all the glue marks off likely, but that’s an obstacle...

Lotsa nice squares on CL out here right now!

They’re by far the best deal in town, and if you pick up a 70s version, you get all the cool kid interiors with houndstooth or plaid, etc. and I personally think they have great body lines- if I had the room to park one I’d love to have one even if to have a great old truck to take the family...

I’d love this one. This color combo in a SWB fleetside would fetch 10k more.

Thanks for the heads up! I know years ago my dad was into krinkle paint, he did the dashboard with that in the old’54.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, not too bad. Looks like they were powder coated from the factory with a rough texture- I’m just going to rough them up a bit with some sandpaper and hit them with some satin. The bigger challenge will be making baffles for them since the ones they made for them are unobtainium. Heading to...

What have you done to your square lately??

The Bilsteins are great- took a loop around town. Got home and had a few minutes so upon Steve Dulcich’s suggestion, I picked up some of this Dawn stuff and started cleaning the M/T valve covers. This stuff is awesome! It actually was working better than brake cleaner since it hangs around...
