    Dapper Lighting FourSix BiLED Headlights

Thanks for posting! Do you have plans to offer lights for the 89-91 Suburban/ Blazer? They are smaller than the 4x6. Thanks

    Broken main bolt

It's amazing how forgiving the SBC really is. In most motors, losing a main bolt and essentially 20% of the total clamping force holding the crank would be catastrophic. I'm amazed the bearing didn't spin.

    Installing windshield in a Squarebody

Are you using used windshields? Could that be issue? I can't find/buy a windshield cheap enough to do myself. I can get a glass company to install for $30-50 more than what I can find them for.

    Broken main bolt

I'm glad it worked out. I've had a few motors change clearances after stud installs. Typically you need to line hone with studs as they apply pressure differently than bolts and are only installed hand tight if I recall.

    Vent window trick?

My 2 cents. While this is a neat trick that will work for many, and may be a temp repair to get you through until you can tear it apart....I think this is best reserved for the show vehicle that gets limited use. In the link, it was a '63 Continental and I suspect that it's not being driven...

    Headlamp Adjusters

Just to clarify.. you guys are saying the green ones on Amazon, manufactured by Au-ve-co are good? I've gone through a dozen dorman and other brands this year on my son's s10. They strip/ break when you install or try and adjust. I buy auveco bolts/clips in bulk so hoping the quality is good...

81 up dash pad anyone bought one recently

I bought a Coverlay for my C30 and son's S10. Fast shipping and good choice of colors. Just got them this week so haven't had a chance to install yet. I paid $280 shipped for both with a coupon I got from a carshow. Quality looks good, hope the fit is as well.

I would love to own something like that. Plus I want the spoiler.

    Rear Brake Options 87

Rebuild the drums. You won't find much if any improvement in performance with rear disc's unless you are looking at a big brake kit with 4-6 pistons. The rear brakes do 30-40% of the braking, less unloaded. Disc's might give you a 10% improvement over the drums. So 10% of 30-40% isn't much and...

    Building a new brake system

I'd consider a hydroboost system. You can piece one together from an Astro Van or newer truck, but I'd reach out to CPP. They are small, somewhat clean, and work real well.

    Brother inlaw's 93 s10

Nice, we are starting a '93 S10 build as well. Ours has the 2.8 though. Future plans call for a small LS and 5 speed.

    Door Skin Sound Deadening

I used lizard skin (2 coats ceramic/ 2 coats sound) the entire inside and then also the surface under the door panel. Doors are much more solid sounding when closing. I also put heat shrink on all door rods to prevent rattles.

New crate engine oil priming/ ignition timing impact if the distributor is mis-installed

The assembly lube is for "assembly". Most of it wipes off in the first half second of rotation. Priming ensures you have oil pressure, pump up lifters, and ensures you have lubrication.

    Mirror correct for ‘81?

No, the base is bigger. And I think it leaves a small gap but I've seen it done a few times that came out nice. There is a black showtruck with woodgrain that is in a bunch of magazines but I can't find any images.

    Mirror correct for ‘81?

Below is the 67-72 style. I know a few that have swapped them onto the squarebody as they look similar but are larger. I personally like the small sport mirror and on a shortbed, I don't find it to be an issue.

    Alloy works radiators

$500...Hard to find a radiator shop these days. They have that unique smell of steam, sweat, and acid?

    Mirror correct for ‘81?

If you are having trouble seeing but like the look of that style, you can swap 67-72's on as they are larger but look almost the same. These trucks came with at least 5 different types of mirrors stock that I know of. Power, sport, dumbo, and multiple 3 & 4 post towing variations. I have the...

    Alloy works radiators

As a reminder...you need to buy a $10 zinc anode with aluminum.

New crate engine oil priming/ ignition timing impact if the distributor is mis-installed

All of the above is great advice and I always just point the rotor straight back and use a sharpie to mark... To answer your question about if there is another way..there is and that is with a pressurized pre-luber. You can install temprarily or buy a system that pressurizes the oil system...

    Loaner Bench Seat DFW Area

Just something to think about...Every seat I have reupholstered, I add seat heaters. They are less than a $100 on Amazon for a quality set. I also try and have them add pockets on the back of the seat so that I can store paperwork, etc. On my son's truck, I added rear seat back pockets and a...

    rear bumper

Yes, the suburban bumper is the same as the optional truck "Sport" bumper. You'll need to purchase inner braces though. $50-60 at LMC or find some used.

Thoughts on going down to 37s?

There is some disparity out there on the 6-8 year from date manufactured for replacement. It is supposedly 6-8 years from when they are mounted, aired, and have their first heat cycle. I wanted to put 355/25ZR19's on the rear of my Nova. The problem I found was that the manufacturers, which I...
