Sanded and rattle canned, needs another coat. But before I do, what do you think? The match isn't too bad for Rustoleum spray can off the shelf. It was this or black?

Looks nice. Makes me wonder what it would look like with clear coat on it.

These didn't have clear coat from the factory. His has had some paint work done in the past.

Edit: I should clarify, the seventies vintage trucks didn't have clearcoat. They started that in the eighties, which is when they had all the peeling problems.

Spray can paint is under rated. If you surface prep with the same intentions as real painter you can get amazing results.
Sadly there was a product I discovered years ago that made paint bomb so much harder and better looking.
It was an AmorAll product called Ultra-Plate. Polymer for hard surfaces. I quick google search reveals some vintage Ultra Plate for sale on Ebay..

Some color would be better than none. Looks good. Half of my old 85 was semigloss black rattle can paint. It came out fine and blended in with very old single stage black paint.

Maybe not even in the 80's for the trucks. My old '86 Burb still wore most of it's original single stage paint, I think my '88 was originally single stage too. My '90 Burb still had it's faded original paint, but it was base/clear.

Most GM cars were switching to base/clear in '86/'87. A lot of the paint peel issues were due to poor primer, as there was a lot of peeling on single stage painted vehicles too.

Another coat or two on that should make it look purdier.
I painted my 76 with rustoleum and I am happy with it.
