I told the clerk are you kidding me you just added some more death tax to my mom, thanks! That is also one of the reasons my truck has been registered and insured this whole time I have been rebuilding it. Don't want to go thru any inspections period.

You don't have to accept that. You can get it appraised as well instead of whatever nonsense bluebook gives out.

Also, if your mother owned it outright and purchased it in California, she likely already paid the sales tax on it when she purchased it in California. According to the Washington DOR, they should not be collecting a use tax on it because the sales tax was already paid on the vehicle in another state and the vehicle was inherited:

Have you always used the sandpaper? That could have something to do with it.

No, I tried it after I think the third time of the mirror falling off in the Jeep. I thought maybe there was residual adhesive and the sandpaper would remove it and give some extra surface for the new adhesive to grab onto. Of course with a thorough cleaning of the button after a light sanding.

Since I decided to follow the JB Weld Mirrorweld directions to the absolute 'T' ("For best results, apply in temperatures between 50°-75°F"), and since the overnight low down this way was supposed to be 72-73F, which is at the edge of JB Weld's window of optimum temps, I started the exercise at 0622 hours to give the adhesive about 2 hours to set within the optimum temps. Gonna give it a full 24 hours to cure and then complete the exercise tomorrow morning by re-attaching the mirror to the metal thingamajigger. It is supposed to be 101F later today so we will see whether I have success.

Yep, start with the O2 sensor. With the old GM stuff, if you have more than one code, you always start with resolving the lower number code. In this case, the 44 could just be a false code due to the failing 02 sensor and the ecm not quite knowing what's going on.

yeah, code 13 is prob a bad O2 or maybe a wiring issue....it is an open signal i think. code 44 is lean, prob bc of the bad O2 sensor or connection to the ECM so the fueling is being affected.

Getting ready to install a new stereo since the cheapo died. Any ideas on where to mount an Amp in the cab? No room under the dash, maybe on the back wall or on the floor between the seats? It's nothing fancy just trying to get a little better sound.

Pasted the new orange headliner to the backer board, still need some paint to match the two tone (brown/orange) bench leather seat cover….not perfect but perfect enough for me. I purchased $30 siphon spray gun from HF to spray landau rubber cement rather than buying 3M headliner paste. Hopefully it all plays nice together since this material is considerably heavier. Orange is a difficult color to purchase this material type, I purchased some lighter material but it never relaxed, creases every 8”. Maybe I will glue some magnetic material to the backside to secure it to the cab roof.

There's plenty of room under the seat. I've got two under the passenger side, and one under the driver side.

You can run the amp power wire through the drain holes too.

Ok, mirror assembly placed and secured to the recently affixed metal dingus on the windshield this morning.

Now the durability phase of the exercise has commenced. Since it is supposed to be 102°F today, that should be a good start...
