Have you pulled the distributor? What does the distributor gear and drive tang look like. Did you fill your new pump with oil,or lubriplate something to help it prime? Pull the oil pressure sender see if you are getting oil there.

I hope this is being done with a priming tool, however new oil, new filter and new pump should prime fairly quickly unless there is some kind of blockage in a galley, cooler, or line somewhere. Also make sure you add enough oil not only to fill the pan but any cooler or lines you may have.

I'm using an oil primer tool made from an old distributor that was in my old 65 Suburban that I cut the top off of
I was going to pull the oil cooler lines this morning but my wife is in the hospital so put it on hold for now. I'm trying to find an oe style set of lines that are already pre made

Has anyone used these from LKC? The site says for 4wd, but will it work on a 2wd with factory cooler? Line ends where they connect to the radiator look to be on a different angle than where mine mount

I have the distributor on my bench at work, and everything is in perfect working order. My only other thing to check is the engine oil cooler and lines. I'm thinking of just replacing them and the cooler so all that is new.
On a separate subject, how do I become a premium/paid member on the site?

Prayers for her swift recovery!
Thanks. I think we've figured out what's causing the problems: Zepbound GLP-1. She ended up in the hospital after the 2nd dose. Now I see why the commercials say "Don't take this medicine if you're allergic to it". Don't know until you take it.

I just love it when those commercials say don’t take it if you’re allergic to it, some learning curve indeed.
