When I bought my Suburban it came with this bent metal plate, that I have not seen on other SB's before. I have no idea if its factory or aftermarket.

Hmm. A strange curved metal pate of some sort.. Did you find it under the drivers seat, or inside the fuel tank?

It was in the back when I got home with the truck. I knew the spare tire and extra door were going to be there. PO had kept them in a shed, when I looked at the truck.

Do you have the phone number of the person or business that you bought the rig from? Perhaps they could provide some insight.

I called the PO and he said he got it that way when he bought it.
Gas tank skid plate.
That's what I was thinking but it is slightly too small to fit over the tank, and the bolt holes don't quite line up.

Next step would be to take some good pictures of it with a neutral background. Then upload those images into "Google image search" and let AI find the answer. It works very well. Its easier than you might think.

I found a thread on here that says it is a fuel tank skid plate. And the pics mount up. Now to figure out what to do with it. Thanks everyone.
