Should i fix the TBI or go to carb? And what's this wire?

You can use your factory tbi wiring for your pump. I wouldn't use the check valve,you want the pump after the filter to keep crap out of your pump. At the front you are still going to need a bypass regulator like the holley I put up,for your return,so you don't dead head the pump. You could get away with a wix 30041 filter in front instead of the regulator.
So far, i have it hooked up with no regulator. I was going to, but guy at the parts store who i know pretty well said, these are low PSI pumps designed for carburtors, shouldn't need a regulator. Said he has one on his impala and so far its worked. Said if it seems to be getting to much, restrict the line a bit with a hose clamp or wire, itll slow.
Figired id try it like that for a while, and see if it works. If it doesn't, than ill buy a regulator and hook it up. Have a good spot up top on the intake, with a return already to be setup.
We'll see.

And im very learly of using any of the factory wiring, because of all the issues i was having with it. May hook to key on power, but most likey just an independent fused circuit with a toggle switch

and I see your logic on the fuel check valve, whats your part number of your pump again? I will do a deep dive and ensure it wouldnt be an issue. I understand the logic of the filter, ricko @Ricko1966 but thats a lot of resistance to get fuel to the pump let alone push it the rest of the way. it needs to be a high flo kind of thing, like a sock on a sending unit(which is new)
I would not restrict it much further since it is also pulling through a check valve, which shouldnt be too bad if the pump doesnt have one itself

Also, the guy said like 2-8 varying pressure, a Rochester likes about 6 roughly, so a little restriction in flow might help it not be 8 ever, and be closer to the 6 needed on average

(Its a flatbed, so easy to access all of this )

Looks good to me. I would definetly install some sort of shield between the rear tire and tank and all your new stuff.

Actaully more like this...just the pump there, and have the other 2 loop around to the sender unit. A slightly longer piece. (Itscold nothing wants to bend)

Could probably use a mud flap backwards as a wheel well.

Could probably use a mud flap backwards as a wheel well.
Keep your tire from throwing stuff at it. Personally would weld in a piece of sheet metal so it ain't flopping around.

More or less just wondering whatcha doin (or was this just a pic of someone elses to show what you planned to do?)
Well i haven't gotten to there quite yet, i gotta crawl underneath to see where i have room and such. Plan on going out of the sender unit, i to the check valve immediately, and into the filter, which will be probabaly just sitting there. I was thinking of mouting the pump on the top of the truck frame rail, under the bed frame, right where the bolt for the old sender unit ground was, so it will be a straight 2in shot right to the old fuel line hookups, wouldn't have to modify much. So basically like my crappy little picture, but the pump down a bit, fist with the top of the tank.
Itll have only the height of the tank to pull fuel from. Which no matter how i do it, it will have to anyway, becase of the sender unit shape.

Thats my preliminary plan anyway, will have to crawl underneath and look at it closer, but i think that'll work. What you think?
