I may try that tomorrow. Got the new one in- fired right up. Oops, mild miss - vaccuum hose got disconnected.

Got it back on - no start.

****. Now sitting in the back of the driveway blocking all the vehicles.

If she starts tomorrow, I can move the vehicles. If not, she has to be pushed out of the way and be in the street.

****.

Wonder if there is an intermittent issue, or if something fried the new module, too.

I presume you did use heat sink grease? Also, the screws that hold the module in complete a ground circuit for the module. Don't use rusty ones.

I did - it came in a tube with the new ( made in USA !!! ) Borg Warner module. The original was the original - had GM on it in outline letters.

The screws did not look bad - the brown (?) connector on the passenger side of the module looked a little iffy ( the one the module just slides into ) but it was dark, I was working by trouble light, and I could be wrong.

Got my exercise pushing ( letting her roll ) down the driveway, manhandling the steering, and then fighting like a sumbish to turn the wheel while she was stopped so I could then push her back, then turn the wheel, then forward, then back ...

At around 4:55 this morning - good times.

Natch, there was a car behind her on the other side of the street the way I needed to turn.

Want to see if OReallys can test the OE one - maybe it is a wiring issue, and if so, maybe it's the connector I mentioned. If so, maybe the answer is a new distributor. Maybe.

R & R of the passenger side power window motor yesterday. Not a hard job. Nice to have a working window again!
Now it's on to the drivers door power lock.

I've got the motors to do this. Just been dreading it. Really not that bad?

Is heat sink grease the same as Therma paste which is an aluminum heat transfer paste we use in the HVAC trade.? It is the worst stuff to get on your hands.

I had more of a pain keeping the wire harness out of the way on reinstallation. Took the time to spray PB Blaster on all the moving parts, especially the rollers.
Take the door latch lever out after you pull the panel. Life is a lot easier. I also cleaned out all of the 'trash' from the bottom of the door.
