Alrighty!

So a guy right down the road from me as it turns out has a 27 spline np241 transfer case.

Manual shift!
Came from a gmt400.

Which is good.

I can use those parts, with the parts from the white suburban and piece together all the necessary equipment to have a floor shifter in the s10

No more bs vaccuum!!

Only problem I saw was, the case doesn't use the front output flat flange like you'd find on a squarebody Era t case.

Suffice it to say I'm in search of one of those now.

Does anyone have one they'd part with? I assume it to be the same spline count.

I finally got ahold of the 88-94 gmt400 np241, manual shift case!

Funny, it was at a guy right down the road's house.... Sitting in the bed of his gmt400. Haha.

ALSO.
Special thanks for @ajd89 for the output yoke from his squarebody np241, I now also have the correct flat flange yoke I need to run the double cardon chevy front driveshaft!!

First time pulling the trans out if the s10 since it's makeover..... It literally took me like, 1.5-1.75 hours to get out. Previously with the IFS and front diff and stockish ride height, took me all of 8 hours to remove it.

Wow what a change.

Anyway, trans is out, I'm gonna rebuild it with another 4l60e I have, piece together one good trans using the hard parts between the 2.

I'll replace clutches, seals and bearings with new parts, everything else will probably be reused. This time around will be really low budget, for the sake of time.

Yeah, I'm no expert by any means, I have experience here and there with automatic transmissions.

Thankfully, any questions I feel like I reach a dead end on, I have a friend down the road that builds them for a living, so I can ask him..
I try to completely avoid asking him though because I want to learn for myself.

Finally got around to building my trans back yesterday night.


I believe this would be my third gear clutch stack.
As you can see in the first pic, on the left is normally worn clutch, on the right is the entire stack from the trans for 3rd that wore all the friction material off And was just bare metal on metal. It got HOT AS **** there.

Getting back to this, i have the s10's transmission in one piece! Its ready to return! I have a 5 day weekend coming soon. Now the only unfortunate part is, the full size transfer case will not bolt to the adapter :(

So.... im gonna modify my clocking ring to work!
I will have to bore out the center if the ring larger, and redrill the clocking ring to match the manual t case.... and i should be good to go! Not an issue!!!!

Ill be working on that this week as time allows so im prepped for a full 5 days of getting her ready, with 4x4.

(Stock t case wont clock down enough and factory front shaft doesnt have enough angle to it, so im goijg to a full size t case with a squarebody double cardon yoke)

Pictured in #1, the s10's t case adapter doesnt fit the full size np241.

#2, you can see the adapter works with the clocking ring.

#3, i will be boring the center of the ring to fit the np241, and redrilling it to fit onto the full size np241....


Basically the clocking ring becomes a....

Indexable adapter.

Spline counts are the same. 27 and 27

Order of business goes as follows...
Turn the OD concentric to the ID, (its flame cut), then grab the OD and boring the ID


The ID must be fairly close fit to the snout of the np241 because without it, its not aligned correctly.
