No. But they are mounted on the passenger side inner fender about a foot from the battery. NOT on the wheel well.

LED strips, left over from another project. Wire to the battery with a toggle on/off.

I put mine in the factory location when I installed on my k5.
May be off by a mm or so.

Thanks. That was what I was wanting to know. My 74 did not come with one of course but I recently purchased one and I did not know the factory location. I got one cause I like it. Not sure why someone does not recreate an upgraded one. They might be a good seller.

NP.
Yes, I'm going to put one on my 87 R10 too when I find another.
They are handy and I'm sure many would like to have.

There are some on ebay where I got mine. Tested and works well. Have not installed yet but will soon.

If you want a very basic light, a 1990 oldsmobile 88 light or a 1997-2005 buick park avenue under hood light are great options. I only say those 2 because Ive had them. They have the mercury switches that make a connection when up, are switched to the headlamp switch, and there is only one wire going to them. They also only have 4 tiny rivets IIRC holding them into the sheet metal of the hood. I can show pics. The buick one looks cleaner but the olds one actually uses an old style bulb like the floor/dome of the squares. I mean, youre gonna have to junkyard find for that obv but figured to throw it out there. They arent gonna light up a crap load at the base of the hood, but maybe half way up the hood and on both sides? Clearance on brake booster of course but otherwise would provide nice lighting with minimal impact.

I like the 'wind-up the cord' type. Put a nice bright LED bulb in it and you can go to the rear of the truck with it.

I see them in the boneyard a lot.

I picked another one up along a pair of those big honker tow hooks from the boneyard for $5! Woo hoo!

I’ve got quite a few GM underhood light assemblies if anybody is still looking for one.

I plan on doing something similar. Maybe a little less strips and more of a cool white color

That's off of a pre-1965 vehicle. I think they were on Caddy's and such.
