Sure don't sound right, but then again he may just don't have a clue what he's got and don't know what end of a screw driver is what, so he probably got a price on a motor from some shop that saw him coming, then got disgusted and decided to just get rid of it all, I've gotten deals like that before so it might be worth checking out, ya never know...
