NO, I'll take your word for it, if you checked the cap and it's good, then it's good. Just saying be sure to have checked it.

So this sounds as if it's a long time sitting vehicle then. It very well can be bad gas that is your whole problem. Have you drained the tank(s)? This is a big risky, but can be done safely and right if you give some thought to it and a long enough piece of hose. Or just start it up in the driveway, but disconnect your fuel line from the tanks, and put another hose into a gas can to the fuel pump with new gas and see how it runs. If you got a long enough piece of fuel hose, you can even run a hose to a can in the bed of the truck or the passenger floor board and go for a drive. Temp just for a test drive of course. If it runs great, then you know where your problem is. Drop the tanks and clean them out refill with new gas.

Does the engine temp increase when this loss of power occurs?

91 Octane and Booster really isn't going to prove anything. It's an 8:1 compression motor by the time you factor in some wear, maybe even 7.8 or so, so pump 87 gas is just fine.

As far as you know, did the previouse owner do anything to it?

Did You write down the numbers from the compression test, if so, please post them up.

First hand, I seen an engine that had a weak or, some weak valve springs on the intake side.
The vacuum created in the intake would suck open the intake valves of other cylinders, pulling in heat and exhaust and run it through other cylinders on the intake stroke, the excess heat would cause heat and pinging as described here.
Possibly from setting for so long has weakened some of the valve springs, as they were compressed during the down time.
Just a possibility.:Good or Bad:

Not fer nuthin, but I have had some instances where an ignition scope showed a bad coil pattern, and the vehicle would only run with base timing waaaayyyy advanced. Replaced the coil, and boom. Was able to bring the timing back to spec.

I realize that this would be " throwing parts" but at this point, I am reaching for anything.
