Rear Bumper for 1980

Will a stock rear steel bumper from a 1978 GMC fit on my 1980 Chevy? Both are 3/4 ton, 4x4, 350, 8' bed. My 1980 has no brackets or bumper.

it should, if not it shouldnt be too hard to fab up a bracket

Looks like the brackets changed in '81 so you should be good.

I'm buying the bumper and brackets from a salvage yard. Anyone have a diagram of how the bumper bolts onto the frame?

If the bumper is a step bumper, the brackets are fix/welded to the bumper so its an easy swap.
