Got my new speakers in the dash and also polished the haze out of the bezels. I bought new 168 bulbs but the yellow plastic thingie was super brittle. I didn't dare push my luck, so I'll get the bulbs another day.

I received a Summit Racing gift card awhile back and needed to spend it on something for the Suburban. My current fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the passenger side inner fender. It has been in there quite some time so I decided a refresh was needed in both the regulator and the location of same. The parts from Summit arrived today (Aeromotive regulator/couple of Earl's fittings/Auto Gage FPG/Eddy fuel line) so I had to do a mock up a bit ago. This way I will just have fuel line from the pump to the regulator instead of from the pump to the fender/regulator then a line from there to the carb. Install exercise will happen when the morning weather cooperates...

Got the driveshaft in, shift linkage on, engine oil changed, oil pump primed, and dropped battery in. Tried to use the key to bump the ignition to get it pulled up on TDC but got nothing. No click nothing. Need check some voltages tomorrow and under the dash. I know a few plugs were unplugged under there so maybe neutral safety switch. Will look at it in the morning.

Got my new manifolds in, welded my exhaust back in and installed my transfer case with a newly swapped 32 spline input.

This 700 to 400 swap its going way easier then I thought. Put new holes in the 400s crossmember. Other than that everything bolted right in. Didn't even have to adjust my shifting linkages for either the 400 or the np241, flexplate already had dual pattern, driveline lengths didn't change, had to use the inspection cover for the 700 because the 400s was from a two-piece rear main seal, even used the dipstick tube off of the 700 because the 400s was destroyed.

Can't wait to have this thing back on the road again

Got the driverside firewall almost done. A little more grinding and welding a few pin holes, the finish line is in site.

In the last week:
- Fixed the wiring for my electric fans so they come on when they should.
- Cleaned up starter wiring
- Cleaned up pdu wiring
- Investigated my dual tank situation, developing a plan
- Put new upholstery on the passenger bucket seat. Hope to get driver seat done this week.

After a few hours of investigation and trouble shooting starter ended up being dead short. Wouldn’t even spark using screwdriver across it. Sooo off to orielly again while running errands with the wife and pick up an ultima starter….. not thrilled about it but it’s what they had in stock and $96 before tax after the core charge.

Got it installed and she cranks over now! Got it pulled up on TDC #1 and got distributor stabbed and cap on, put new spark plugs in and ran the wires. Got wire on the coolant sensor in the head. Just need to see if I have a carb plate gasket or if I need to get one and get it put on. Then coolant hoses fan and shroud. Still need to figure out how and where I am gonna hang my transmission cooler.

Hopefully will be trying to fire it up here in next few days. I also found someone local who has some western chassis 4” drop leaf springs for sale. I was gonna do a flip kit but I think this will be a better option. And they are brand new, getting them for $300. $480 new from western chassis.

That original spare is awesome. I definitely geek out over stuff like that.
My '74 came with Uniroyal "rain tires", still have the mounted spare. First thing I did when I got the truck was pull the factory wheels and tires off and replaced them with Gates saw-tooth 10.00/15 tires on Keystone white spoke wheels. The dealer, different dealer, bought the still new original wheels and tires from me.

One of the first trucks on the east coast with white spokes.

Here at the Clean Foundation we rescue lost and unwanted Squarebodies. Today we rescued a 89 Blazer that someone did some very unsafe stuff. Never mind the 4 inch pipe body lift. I'll get some better pics tomorrow. But here it is safe from the crusher.

Was it a mud toy??
I have no idea... it's mine now. The body is in pretty good shape. Few things will need to be fixed. The bed is full of junk that will have to be cleaned out. Floors are in good shape from what i could see. One good thing about the body lift, I could see the floors from underneath it...lol
