That's for vortec heads but the pipe threads should be the same as well as the others.
That instruction set covers all of Edelbrock’s small block manifold lineup , but yes, that does depict a vortec head intake.

I used Teflon tape at first, but it really didn’t like it. It was grinding after a couple of threads so I backed it out and removed it.

Can I remove this? It seems to be in the way of my performer intake slightly.

Another freeze plug? I figured the one behind it by the distributor would do
I am curious about that as well. I know it serves a purpose, and removing it will leave a big hole on the inside of the engine, but will it affect anything? I can see it maybe affecting oil pressure? Not sure. It's a stretch, but possible? You are basically taking out the factory items that they used to help the engine breathe, and you are planning to add in the more modern style of engine breathing, i.e.: pcv to the base of the carb and vent tube to the air cleaner housing. I know @Ricko1966 @idahovette @bucket and many others have an idea of whether that really needs to be plugged or not.

Shouldn't affect pressure it's not on a galley. I'm going with put a freeze plug in it,it's cheap easy,maybe overkill,but I would.

Did a search. Normally I don't pay attention to any feedback from the DuckDuckGo Search Assist, since it is AI, but this explains it well enough to share, and was sourced from chevytalk and chevyhardcore

Which he has done by going to PCV valve and venting the opposite side valve cover.

Now, I have no experience with those older ones and their removal, but doesn't that vent to the bellhousing? In which case, an expansion plug would be needed to fill the leftover hole?

1964 I think was the first year for the pcv there, before that it was an atmospheric vented road draft tube.

when I take it out I’m gonna try to see where that hole goes, if it just goes to the outside hole I’ve already blocked or not
