I found a set of old Smittybuilt tubular prerunner style bumpers on FB Marketplace and drove 2 hours each way yesterday to pick them up. Considering how expensive new aftermarket heavy duty tube style bumpers are and the cost of freight, and before I admit how much I paid for them I’d like to know a ballpark value for them considering the potential rarity and being heavy duty. I’m in the process of stripping them down. They are HEAVY! The tubes are 3”, the front bumper weighs 75lbs and the rear weighs 45lbs. I’m not sure how old they are but they’re no longer listed on the Smittybuilt website for 80’s squarebody’s. They were on an ‘86 Blazer and I’m considering installing them on my ‘83 Blazer because I really like the looks of them. I’d like to know y’all’s thoughts and opinions about them.

I'm sure there's a few people that want those but the vast majority of these trucks I see being built are using OE/repop OE bumpers. I've seen a few tube style bumpers for sale here and there, they're usually $50-100/ea

I'd say that there's so little of them on the market, it would be hard to nail down a ballpark value. If a guy was putting together a truck and trying to duplicate a truck he had in the past, they may be willing to pay a hefty price for them. Kind of like the old Hickey items.

I got them for free. The guy wanted to go back to the factory chrome bumpers which I traded my old beat up chrome bumpers for his Smittybuilt tubular bumpers.

Nice!! I’ve always liked the tube bumpers, but you hardly ever see them on anything besides jeeps. I wonder if they just weren’t very popular, or if just most of them got wrecked up or rusted out back in the day. Hard to put a value on them since they’re hard to find.
