So I've ran into a slight problem midway through my build. I currently got a 76 k10 single cab shortbox the problem is I need a new box and I can't get aftermarket box sides in Canada so I went looking for a donor truck. I found a 85 c10 single cab long box for 350$ with a good condition box except its a long box I think from the picture. My question is if I swapped front ends, cabs, everything except the box would my 76 components line up on a 85 frame? Desperately need to know ASAP please and thanks. The white truck is the donor truck that I'm thinking about buying

There are some differences in the frames, but they mostly have to do with the front bumper mounts. As far as I know, everything else will work fine. Not quite sure about the radiator support though.

And yes, that is a longbox.

Remove the front of the long box, cut it down, reinstall the front, IDK if that would work.

It's not as simple as just cutting the front I believe you have to cut a couple sections out of it

Google it, you will find alot of people that cut down a long bed into a short bed. I recall even seeing exact dimensions telling you where to cut it, thats alot easier than your current plan.

I've searched and searched for where and how much to cut I haven't found them so I'm just going to have to measure dozens of times and cut once. I picked the truck up Saturday for 300$ and tonight we got it unbolted and ready to take off with the engine lift.

I figured out the lengths to cut and where to cut so I measured it and taped it so I'd have straight consistent lines however I've ran into a problem I believe. Once I got to the bottom I realized that the bottom would not line up excuse it slopes in the back or I don't think it will. I've looked at other people who've done it and it lines up. Is the c10 box different than the k10 box any help is appreciated.
