I bought an 86 k30 cab and chassis for $550. 350/th400/205. Was old great lakes naval station fire and rescue truck. Utility box is ugly rusty, cab needs help. I've got a nice cab and front clip but frame is sketchy. My plan was 366 tall deck, th400/203. 8.5 ft western pro straight blade and 8 ft step side box. Metal fab isn't a problem. Has any one built a replacement frame? Was thinking about rectangular tubing the right size and making it match the contours of the factory rails and building crossmembers. Finding a clean frame in Michigan isn't easy. Don't hate on me for the 366 and 203. This is going to be a work truck and the 366 is ideally suited for what I'm doing. The 203 is too simplify this for my wife. Milage? Local and I don't care. Going to regear from 410 to 488 or 513 and run 255 85 16 rubber.
