Hey guys I tried putting the window handle with the clip and tried to pop it on. It stays but does not turn the window down. Im so tempted just to super glue or use contact cement.. is there a quick fix I really dont feel like opening the door and replacing it, just for the window handle.. any suggestions?

Yup that's your issue. Try operating it with pliers. It should be very smooth if not... time to check and see what's binding.

You can try using aftermarket hot rod style window cranks, a lot of them fasten on with just a set screw. Otherwise, the window regulator needs replaced.

Or just keep using vice grips I guess.

I've only messed with the '77 and later doors. With those, you just remove the door panel and unbolt the regulator and slide it off the window sash with the window still in the door. You can put tape on the perimeter of the window to keep it from falling down in the door. I'd assume the '73-'76 doors are similar.
