Hey guys
I have a 83 gmc k2500 with a 4" suspension lift. A few weeks ago the rims and tires were stolen off the truck.

So now im in the market for some new wheels and tires and i figured while im at it why not upgrade

The rims and tires that were on the truck were 33x12.5r16 on a 8" wide rim

Im thinking of going with a 35x12.5R16 or 17-- on a 10 inch wide rim

Im just concerned with rubing. I really like the look of 10 inch rim I just dont know if the rim will cause the tire to rub the front fenders

Any one have any ideas if these wheels and tires will clear

Thanks,
John

It will rub. Maybe a little, maybe a lot... but it will rub.

35's on 8's run a good chance of rubbing themselves let alone 10 inch wheels.

I say if you want it run it.

if it's rubs add more lift, be it an ugly body lift, add a leafs or the ez inch blocks, you can't run blocks up front, except for the ez inch or zero rates that bolt to the spring pack, but out back you can just get a bigger block, shackle flip, tons of things to add lift.

Or trim some too. There's the lower corner of the fender you can take off and get a lot more clearance. Just remove where the metal starts to turn under.

damn, i was really hoping you guys would say that the tries would clear but oh well.
if i go with 33s ill go with a 10 inch rim 35s itll be a 8 inch rim. the 35s should clear then right? or should i give up on the idea of 35s with only 4 inches of lift

A lot of people get by with it. Depends on your springs and driving style. I've got a 4 inch with 33's on an 8 inch wide wheel, and a sway bar still in use. The left front tire has clobbered the bottom corner of the fender a few times. Clears just fine for street driving, a 35" probably would too. But for any amount of playing off road, they would hit for sure.
