I do not have this piece under the rear window of my 89 cc dually 3+3 silverado, my uncles 78 cheyenne c10 did however. I found this truck, not sure which year, that is a dually with that trim piece.

what is the name of this piece and does it belong on my truck?
mine is an 89, so its a c3500/c30.... or what? so confusing, but it has a 3500 badging on the sides, both front fenders, looks like they are off of the 88-98 chevy trucks... is this badging correct for my truck?

oh also, is the diamond plate on the bed rails from factory? I hate them on my truck but if they are factory, I MAY consider keeping them.

thank you

Its referred to as cab moulding and I believe it does belong on your truck. They are available through companies like LMC Truck and Turners Classic Industries. They are expensive, but if lucky they can often be sourced on Craigslist.org and in good usable condition. You can also search Ebay, but be prepared to shell out some serious cash. I have seen the corner cab mouldings go for as much as $125 for the pair on Ebay.

The diamond plate bed rails covers are aftermarket. Companies like Dee Zee made those and they were often sold at Pep Boys and the like.

1989-91 did not have the cab mouldings. Even Silverados, they were dropped after the 1988 MY.
The 3500 badge is correct.

If you want to get technical, your truck is a R3500 as in 1987, the C/K designation was put over on to the GMT-400 platform which came out mid year.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Yeah when looking for parts I usually search for 1986 c30's, or if it is for engine parts I say its a 91 3500.. can be frustrating.
