Drove it to the city and discovered my waterpump is toast. Made it home without any damage to the radiator I think. Fan moves about an inch [emoji51]

Oh. That was nearly a projectile that could have taken out your hood too. You probably don't want to paint it again, lol.

I’ve since parked the truck until the new stuff comes in. In fortunately it’s my only wheels until I fix my Subaru engine or ride the bike to work.

Drove it home, stopped for gas (shocking, a thirsty square !), checked drum temp with finger - no burns, no smells, so all is good. Yeah, I putted around Mom's neighborhood several times earlier today debating about borrowing (asking basically a stranger to me if he had) a floor Jack, but ...

HTH did I get worse mileage than with the AC on and a dragging brake ?

Only thing I can guess is since the temp dropped it is not in the engine sweet spot for temps.

Who knows.

That was with the Additech out of the pump, too.

Well, not sure the RH side was more worn, but could be as it seemed to be doing more work. Correct if wrong, but since a self adjuster is a one way operation, if too loose it could adjust to where it should be over time, but if too tight it won't automatically back off.

So, what needs to happen 1st is for me to get the drum back off and loosen the driver's side 2 clicks as a start.

Problem is no floor jack here.

I will play with it when I get home, or tomorrow. I guess I should buy one of those drum ID/shoe OD measuring tools and take the guessing out of it.

Edit- this tool. First link I found - spendy !

That can be done with a caliper to right? As long as it's big enough

I don't see why not.

Just irks me that what I could do by feel before I seem to have lost my touch.

Right before a 60 mile road trip, too.

Oh, well- Goldie is a tough old bird.

Got a new front driveshaft for our 90 V1500 and the new driveshaft came with a larger front u-joint than the old one. The end caps are 1 1/8" in diameter and the old one had 1 1/16" diameter end caps. The guy at the Auto Value Parts store said this was the only driveshaft listed for a 90. Anyone run across this before? I'm hoping I can just get a combo u-joint and fix that issue.

We ordered a set of Dumbo mirrors a few months ago and finally found a set of the support brackets at the junkyard for them.

Before with the massive tow mirrors that are totally not needed...

During and after as Max installs the new drivers side mirror....

Next is a new set of tires.

After that we can put in the new to us transmission cross member that will let us run dual exhaust much simpler. He found a truck in the yard that some guy was already removing the SM465 from and made a deal with him to undo half the bolts for him.
Then comes a set of headers and brand new dual exhaust.

Then we may lower it a few inches.
It is a 2wd suburbanite chore truck now...

I forgot!
He also found us a fresh bumper for the rear of the truck.
The one that is on there is a massive diamond plate steel jobbie that rubs the tailgate when it is down.
Plus it weighs a ton as there is some sort of aftermarket trailer hitch welded in there.

Here is a photo of his last treasure hunt at the Pick N Pull on half price day.
He gets all his buddies to go out on those days and they all find stuff for their trucks.

The seats are from a squaresub, he wanted to put them into the truck.
I don't really want too as it would lose the middle seat option.
So they now sit in the bed under the canopy...

Went to install new flange pipe. Tried to remove heat riser to remove broken butterfly.

Won't slide off bolts. Moves a little.

New slide hammer should arrive today.
