New 73-80 inner fenders installed in the 81. Didn't quite get to put the battery back in due to rain, so the rest of the wheels and tray will wait til tomorrow.

Sent the TH400 for a rebuild, came back looking fresh, continued tearing down the brakes/axle ends, they were dragging for a minute - anchor pins had a flat spot worn in - 48 years not bad for servicing lol - cleaned up the backing plates/hubs got them trem cladded up, hoping to get the axle painted this weekend after cleaning the shop floor. Been a minute - just keeping to myself lately, hope yall are doing well where you are.

Learned some stuff ! It took me 67 years to figure out how to get a carb really clean for rebuilding. Pine-Sol soak, then a quick blast with baking soda in a hand held blaster. I'm blown away! Never had anything work this well, not even chem dip.

So, bottom line, bought a book and a good rebuild kit from Cliff Ruggles and rebuilt a spare quad I had laying here. Then dropped it in the truck today. So far so good! Really makes a difference when you actually understand and set the secondary flaps correctly. I am having trouble getting low enough rpm... No leaks detected, but I think I need to switch to a ported vacuum source for the advance to get the idle rpm to stay under 1000 rpm.

You know what else I learned ? Blasting with baking soda outside isn't just harmless powder on my polished aluminum wheels. It actually eats aluminum and I had to go and polish with a 5" wheel, every darn rim to get most of it off. it really dug in there and there are still some spots. Dang !
