Tweeters going up front dash area. The 6.5 I'm probably gonna to make a center console to put them in. The 6x9s will replace the stock ones in my back dash in the camaro. They were sold as a set on ebay.
Gotcha. I wondered if the 6x9 were going in the truck. I bought some metal corner brackets from someone on FB to install the 6x9 in my truck.
I hated the sound until I bought boxes for them…..and added 100 watts per speaker

Loaded my Z28 for a real world tow test. I actually bought the truck amd trailer to pull this car specifically. The 454 does okay on flat land but struggle on the slopes and hills.
Sweet looking setup what is the gears in your truck my 83 k3500 454/th400 has 4.56 on 235/85r16 doing 3000rpm at 55 right in peak power curve and will pull the house up the 8east grade so maybe gearing maybe old smog equipment?cats? also they are old trucks don't expect it to pull like a 2020 Silverado lol also try manually shift to 2nd gear if your in windy hilly back roads these trucks tend to shift up to 3rd and stay there until kickdown to 2nd

So you're going to have the speaker hooked to the left output pointing to your right, and the right output speaker pointing to the passenger door, or vice versa?

Either way, it seems like you'd lose some stereo effect.

Im at 2600 RPM at 55 mph with my truck.
4.10 gears and the tires are 29.5 tall. Tranmission is TH400
My problem is that the 87 R20 454 truck is weak . Rated 230hp/385TQ
Hoping my overtime kick back in so i can build a stouter big block.

not as familiar with the TBI trucks but my old 91 c2500 was a 350 4speed I called it my Corvette truck lol nothing heads intake cam and some headers won't fix just about to do the same to mine headers first eventually top end or maybe I'll pull it apart toss in some better pistons and rods bump the compression a bit as long as it's on pump gas and want to see how far the q jet will go I hear 500hp with a Qjet is possible not Shure how the TBI will handle it might have to go to a Holley tbi so you can tune it

I see your point. I'm still looking at maybe putting the 6x9s in the cab corners with these.

I've got tweeters in the top corners behind me and with the tweeters in the front I think it will keep the stereo sound. Haven't decided yet. Also was going to stop by my buddy's stereo shop and get some ideas from him.

In one car I did a setup and for schitzngiggles using front left / right channel of the radio I put two tweeters, with bass blockers of course, L/R on the back of the rear-view mirror to bounce back and sounded fantastic, then two Aura Bass Shakers attached underneath the seats using the rear left / right channel of the radio. Then with a separate Cerwin Vega XL 4ch amp I did two back deck speakers and three-way components in the two doors while running two 10" Cerwin Vega V-Max subs in the trunk with one Cerwin Vega XL mono amp.

I have a set of those that you can have if you pay shipping from Indiana. I couldn’t get a good sealed environment so I went with boxes instead.
Still needed an amp to really wake it up. And a 8 inch powered RF sub.

Oh, wait. You need 67-72? Mine fit 84. I am not sure if they will work for you.

If the fuel tank is behind the seat, corner speakers won't work out.

The simple upgrades really make a difference in how the factory 454's operate.
We put a set of headers and 2-1/2 inch exhaust on mine and it was a change you could feel in the seat.
An upgraded MSD ignition module was placed in the HEI, no felt change.
The biggest change we could feel was when we installed a simple Edelbrock 2.0 intake manifold and Holley carb.

The truck is a whole different animal now.
When I got it, it was sad and pathetic with barely being able to spin the tire.
Now it will turn the tires over with ease.

I have hauled several loads of gravel at 2,500 pounds and the engine just does not care.
The transmission, it cared and I used granny to get the thing moving from a stop.
Just big rig stuff at that point.

I may have to create a new post once I add the trim rings and refreshed center caps. Today I upgraded from 31x10.5r15 to 33x12.5r15 (with my janky powder coated wheels). Tomorrow we find out if she rubs.
