Took off the random junk on the goose neck and that thermo vaccum thing next to it. Unused, unneeded. Made a mess but wasnt too bad.

More progress on my 64.

Removed the front drum brakes, ball joints (what a pita that was as they were the original ones), spindles, brake lines and springs. Mid next week the disc brakes and drop spindles will be here. I just wrapped up installing the power brake booster and proportional valve. The wheels arrived last week (22" GM's transport wheels), so with more rolling mass, power disc brakes will definitely be needed. I will also be replacing all ball joints, and tie rods with modern units as well.

I hope to have the air ride fabbed and installed by November. Sorry for the crappy pics, my cell phone was dropped and now the pics are fuzzy.

Knocked out the old cam bearings. Took me 10 hours to figure out how to get this far without pulling the engine. Life would be easier sometimes if I weren’t so stubborn....

AC is now blowing cold air... at last. Upgraded to R134a also.
Original Delco compressor replaced (including accumulator & orifice tube) with a reman'ed one and clutch disk broke loose within two weeks.
Warranty replaced it and I went with a brand new (made in China) one this time. Again, new accumulator/orifice tube.
The new compressor weighs about 1/2 of the original and reman'ed one.
Got my fingers crossed.

Put on new intake and Quadrajet on with new fuel pump and hard line to carb. New valve covers, pcv valve, and hooked alt back up. Next step is to wire in electric choke and stab new distributor. With a little luck maybe get it fired up for the 4th.

On the LS, I installed the 680 Ω pull up resistor for the tach signal and set the tach to 4 cylinder. It's off about 300 at idle and 120 at 2000.

Oops - it is 28 bux. Which makes the knob a bigger rip off ...

Ugh.

Whole switch is around 38 bux.

I was attempting to fix the "infinite pulses" squirter issue as it seemed like if I wiggled the stem the squirters would stop, and the next cycle worked like it was supposed to.

We shall see.

My squirter doesnt work and if i wiggle it the wipers go. Im not sure if the switch is bad or what. The intermittent dont seem to work either. Im not sure if the switch is bad or the motor.
