There is purpose in life, no matter what, no matter how much pain I am in, there is always someone I can help. Grand childrens too, I love them little ones so, I`ll stick around until it is time to go home, my not of this earth home.
I did install a carb. kit into the 78 K20, new plugs, wires, rotor and cap. It sure does run a lot better. Switched it over to synthetic motor oil too.

You're lucky to have Sugar Mama. This is why I stay broke as hell. I'll never get out of this financial ******' I'm in. Even if I file bankruptcy, I'll just start accumulating medical debt again, so what's the point? :suicide: is thought of often, though I'd never shoot myself. There's other ways. Ohhhh I and I get it 100% about the little one with Autism. So you at least have a purpose and a reason you need to stick around. Well, my son is 19 now, daughter is 26, I'm about out of purposes. Though my dad is a ***** and has strangled me with his control freak antics and tied my hands since my house is in his name which kept me from losing it in the divorce and why that happened, I'm still not willing to leave him with this mess and having to deal with my issues. I'd take care of all that first. When that's taken care of, I guess I'll reevaluate and see if there is there is any purpose left. I used to think very different about the matter and how selfish someone is like Robin Williams. Not any more. I totally get it now. I just hope people like him had issues that would justify it. People who do it over a girl or relationship... Nawww, that's some chicken **** right there.

I used to think the same thing. The thing is that it is about what is going on in their head. Not the thoughts, but the chemicals. When they get to that point it isn't the thoughts or emotions driving them anymore, it is the chemical imbalances. It can be overcome but they aren't fighting sissy emotions, they are fighting chemistry. It's easy to say that someone took an easy way out but most of the time we never know what else they were living with, whether it was real or simply perceived.

I have contemplated just purely out of frustration! That is as far as it should ever go though! But as a few other posters have mentioned I have had to view life different as the ME ism just doesn't cut it any more. Not implying anything! LOL just talking about myself haha

If you can help someone whether with a post to help some poor dumb nuts out with his dead battery or making sure your son doesn't get screwed buying a truck or helping him fix it! You have helped make someone's life better. Later on in life those will be memories that your son will cherish.

Life isn't about having the biggest boat or RV or mansion on the block. When your dead these things will do nothing for you! Its about making the lives of people that surround you better with what ever it is that you can help with.

We have people over for dinner as much as possible (as a kid I was always starving literally because of my dead beat alcoholic father so I view food as a basic necessity that should be shared with all) and they dump on us with all their mundane problems. Shake my head a lot! After, my wife and I are often amazed at how these people think their problems are so big but in reality even compared to our problems they are very lame problems. LOL. But you know I hope that the day I kick the bucket and people gather for my funeral they will view me as somebody who tried to help instead of just another dude with a ME complex.

Even the good lord says that there is more happiness in giving than in taking. When your down and out though that seems like a retarded statement but when you put it into practice it always cheers you up even if just for a little while, until, you can find your next victim to smother with kindness so you can feel better again haha.

Health problems and financial problems always drag us down. Helping someone else lifts our outlook and helps us to put our problems in proper place/perspective.

If you do what you can to help others the good lord will help you! Not the other way around. That's what I try to keep in mind and it helps me immensely to get through each day.

The other thing is that listening to everybody's problems helps us realize that sometimes we don't really have it that bad off compared to what some other people have to go through.

Also I tried to stay away from the heavy narcotic pain killers for years but then I figured who cares Im gonna be like this forever so I might as well enjoy some pain relief until I do kick the bucket LOL

Now I can do more things and enjoy doing things with my kids again. I know it wont last but at least Im not writhing in pain anymore!

That is the one thing good about Canada that the pills and medical can be way more affordable compared to you southern boys and the pay for everything medical structure the States has.

All weekend my roommate has been parked behind me but I can't move his car because he has a breathalizer innerlock system installed and we've been drinking all weekend so no one can move it to let my truck out...

It's a really small Ford Escort and I'm thinking about running it over :killer:

You can at least turn the key to get it into N though right? You should be able to push it. How do you think we tow truck drivers feel when he have to tow a car that's got a breathalizer on it? That's usually when I go get bossman and tell him he needs to come blow this car off to get it started. He's ask's why? You been drinking? I say No, I'm not sucking on a damn thing, especially when you don't know what they been sucking on.

Failed AZ emissions today on visual. Had the bad luck to get the grizzled old mechanic inspect my 'burb while he was training some new guys and he spotted my "off road use only" Edelbrock carb despite the fact that I had managed to get all the emissions stuff hooked back up and functional. Not that I would intentionally try to sneak something like that through. :angels2:

Tailpipe sniffer numbers were great.

Luckily they can only fail by check box, so officially it was "emissions equipment disconnected or improperly connected" or some such.

Looks like I might be rebuilding the Q-jet this weekend just so I can throw it on and have the "correct" hookups. I would never, ever consider just taking it to a different test center where they might not spot the Edelbrock. :emotions33:

That is such Bull ! If it passes emissions what's the problem?

And why is it for off road use only ? It mixes fuel with air just like a Quadjet or holley or any other damn carburetor:Insane:

Now that is ********. Just because it says, "For Off-Road Use Only" he fails it. And he KNOWS it's ********. Guess maybe it's cuz he was training and had to make an example out of you. I'd have had to ask the guy, So do you normally REALLY fail people when everything is hooked up, and tailpipe emissions are great or is it just because your training and had to use me as an example? And if he was an ******* about it, then I'd have been an ******* back. If he wasn't then I'd say, OK I"ll bring it back when you're not training a couple guys, since I know you're smart enough to know that Carb is going to put out better tailpipe emissions than the OEM Qjet I have sitting at home on the shelf.

That's a walk in the park. For over the past 10 years I've been prescribed 4-5 Norco 10/325 a day, 2-3 Soma 350mg, 2 Gabapentin 300mg, 4-6 Tramadol 50mg, 3 Ibuprofen 800mg blah blah blah, and other stuff. Yeah, I know why my guts are fuct up.

For anyone who likes to read medical bs. Here are my MRI reports on my lower back and my neck I found not long ago. These of course are from 10 years ago. Things have gotten much worse since then. I'm hoping to get new updated MRI's this year as well a new Nerve conduction study on my arms and hands. I even got a couple MRI film scans if anyone likes that stuff. I do find it a bit interesting.

****, we're going to need to start another thread for our whining and crying about our boo boos. :happy175:

No, he wasn't being an ******* or anything. In fact, I never got to talk to the older guy, he originally came over just as they younger guy was finishing up my inspection... He asked me to pull up out of the line and called over 3 or 4 of the young guys and was poking around under the hood with them for a few minutes. From what I heard of the conversation as I was sitting behind the wheel, he was explaining to them that they couldn't pass it legally once they knew it didn't have the CARB stamp(?), but the only thing they could fail it for was "not connected or incorrectly connected".

The techs are not allowed to discuss the reasons you failed- the rules are they have to direct you to the office drone behind the desk inside, who only knows what it says on the check box. I am VERY familiar with the process from when I was struggling to get my wife's '91 Caprice through a few years back. If you pester them, they MAY go back out to the garage and ask the tech what the actual problem was, but I caught the gist of it... :emotions33:
