were factory frames galvanized?

Self explanatory title. :) I know chevy has used hot dipped galvanized frames at some point but I don't know if it's newer trucks or when they started or etc.

Curious about both the 73-87 and 88-99 chassis separately if anyone knows, one might be and the other not too.

I doubt that they were. All I have ever seen was undercoating applied at best.

Can't be done unless every rivet, bracket, and bolt that's in contact with the frame is also zinc coated. Having carbon steel and galvanized steel in contact with each other will accelerate corrosion because they are dissimilar metals.

Like the bumpers that fell off of all those 70's cars. Although I don't remember if the backing plates were galvanized or just aluminum. Either way, it was dissimilar and it fell off over time.
