Id say manual rack n pinion. Rack n pinion would be even more accurate then crossover and since your not flexing as much as if you were rock crawling or trail riding itll work just fine

With the steering shaft extending from the bottom of the column to a rack mounted on a suspended axle, you would lose any added "accuracy" over a traditional crossover setup. Adding a panhard bar, of the proper length and angle would improve any "inaccuracy"issues.

May be a manual orbital/hydro to the rack. I'll be interested to get the mystery figured out lol.

I was also trying to figure out how the heck the steering shaft would work with a rack. It almost has to be some type of hydro setup.

Regardless of how crazy and "wrong"it may look, it may be something completely interesting to see how it works.

Meant to update this sooner but had trouble finding the thread. I got a pic of the steering on the front of Rumpshaker, it is definitely a rack. I couldn't get a pic of how it is linked to the column because there must have been 4 guys under the hood at the time. Anyway, here's the pic I got...

I was tripping on the fact it is bolted to the diff cover. You gotta have octopus arms to put all that together!

I am still curious about the steering shaft. It must be running down inside the frame then? Inside the leaf springs? Curious how that clears the frame and motor/headers/ etc.

Curious, curious, curious.... :roflbow:
