Curt, what's the deal with that front axle and steering setup? Is that a 10 bolt? And a rack and pinion? What's those shocks ?

Yeah 10 bolt front, I'm pretty sure that's a non-power assist rack & pinion, I'll try to get better pics/info about that next weekend, and those are Bilstein racing shocks.

Confused as to the advantage of a rack and pinion over traditional crossover, especially being non-power assist

Like old school racing, one less belt to worry about. Manual steering. At least I think it is, we'll find out for sure next saturday good lord willin and the creeks dont rise!

From seeing the truck launch, I understand the lack of need for power assist, curious as to what the strong shaft going to that rack looks like... Since it not only has to bend with the suspension movement, but telescope as well. Could have just done crossover to the passenger side knuckle with a manual steering box.

Yeah, that whole front suspension/steering setup got me scratching my head. Would like to see better pics of it myself.
