upper door seal installation

Just got a pair of upper door seals made by Soffseal. My truck didn't have seals from the factory, and I'm not sure how to position them on the door. Any idea which way to install them, or any close-ups of installed OEM seals? That's adhesive under the red protective film.

I installed some GM ones on my '77 K5 back in the 90's. I just bought a set from LMC that are similar to the OEM style. I set them on there so you can see the fit. I know I had to glue the GM ones, just like these and I know you don't have the metal ends.

Looking at how my seals fit, I believe the 3M tape would attach to the vertical edge of the door (at the top of the window). It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the longer edge of the seal is closest to the outter edge of the door.

I did hear back from SoffSeal, which has been acquired by Trim Parts. Anyway, they said to install the seals U-channel up, taller ridge out. Makes sense and fits well. By using a thin 6" steel ruler, I was able to determine the seal gets compressed anywhere from 0.1" - 0.2". Also the adhesive sticks extremely well. Great $31 upgrade, IMO.

Did you notice less wind and road noise on the highway after the install?
