Kind of on the subject, anyone ever notice how uncommon the regular cab C30's are with single rear wheels? It seems like most were duallies and/or crew cabs.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one when scouring CL in my area. Maybe it’s because most seemed to have bought them to tow gooseneck horse trailers. Kind of like what Vbb199 was saying about srw k30s.

I think I've seen more single wheel K30's than C30's, and that's not including the military trucks.

And I'll add that if he did indeed have a 833 trans in a 1 ton, then someone swapped it in, those only left the factory in 1/2 ton models.

Maybe so, it was originally a state truck

When I bought my 82 C10 it was a very basic, mostly unmolested truck with original paint, a 250 six, and 3-on the tree. No options at all, unless power steering was optional back then. (???) Not sure how rare the truck was, but I haven't seen another one as basic during the 5 years I've had mine.

My initial idea was to keep it stock, but the steering column shift mechanism was toast and most parts for it (like the shift bowl) are no longer available. Also the 250 six had the horrible PAIR system & integrated cylinder head/manifold and was on its last legs. Anyway, it now has a 350 & TH350 with column shift. So no more semi-rarity here!

People will say there is no such thing as a rare Squarebody and I say while that may be true there are rare options. A thread yesterday about the NP833 tranny optioned trucks comes to mind. In Eastern NC I've never seen a crew cab square or a long bed stepper. My K10 is the only NP833 optioned rig I've ever laid eyes on. Hell, here a rust free Squarebody is a rare thing in itself.
i have a 1982 , plain blue in some places long bed chevy c 10 , ps pb no ac , 305 4 barrel , with np833 , but also has a in bed spare mount? i have 5 c10/c20,k20 none have either one ?
c20 it is a 454 /400 propane powered appears factory ? also has carb. after market ac. long tool bed truck with a camper top cover the bed? also a 81 c10 90k miles , 250/ 350 with lock up torque converter ,ps,pb,ac , no cruise , no tilt , dash has a factory tach?

Dodge had piles of special trucks. I’m not sure any are really that rare though. I do know when you’ve got Don Knotts representing for you, you’ve reached the top.

My 1988 V-30 2 door regular cab square body pickup is rare.
The square body pickup in 1988 could only be bought as a 4x4 dually.
Dealer installed cap was a give-away for new truck purchase.

That's pretty snazy!! I've been kinda tossing around getting a cap for my dually around that same style. Mine being a 91 it's be "era correct". I'm not really a camper shell guy but it just seems like one should be on there for some reason. My dad has one similar to that on his S-15 when I was a kid so I've got fond memories of bed caps LOL

On the surface, that looks great for the asking price.

It had the "granny gear" floor mounted manual transmission.
The 180k was kilometers, not miles!
I was across the border for the funeral of a friend.
Super clean truck inside out.

I'm sure I've seen a few since, but the last one I remember seeing was an '83 Custom Deluxe. My brother in law had it. It had some desirable parts on it and I helped him part it out. I regret that now, but hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
